Details
This hike begins at the visitor centre in Glendalough, we follow a track uphill before taking a steeper hill path up to the summit of Derrybawn. From here we follow the undulating ridge to Mullacor and Lugduff. We continue following the broad ridge on a rough mountain path, enjoying some magnificent views of Lugnaquilla and the Glendalough and Glenmalure valleys.
Grade: Hard (Forest track, mountain path and open mountainside)
Meeting point: Glendalough Visitor Centre car park, 10.30am
Height gain: 800 metres, (2600 ft)
Distance: 17 km, (11.5 miles)
Time: Approx. 6.5 hours
Cost €35.00 per person
Please note this hike is on rough mountain hillside that includes rocky sections and wet slippery ground. It is essential that you wear appropriate mountain footwear, especially in the wetter months of the year. You may be turned away by the guide if you arrive in runners.
